OpenShot Video Editor is also available for download from our official PPA. Only Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty) and newer versions of Ubuntu are supported with our PPA. Select the PPA below that best fits your needs. Release Notes
Stable PPA (Contains only official releases)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openshot.developers/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install openshot-qt python3-openshot
OR
Daily PPA (Highly experimental and unstable, but contains daily updates for testers)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openshot.developers/libopenshot-daily
sudo apt update
sudo apt install openshot-qt python3-openshot
Now that OpenShot is installed, you should be able to launch it from your Applications menu, or from the terminal ($ openshot-qt). Every time we update OpenShot, you will now be prompted to update to the newest version. It's a great way to test our latest features.
